Puerto Viejo is going to one of those destination I will return to for many years. I was looking for an alternative to typical vacation and I really found it. I stayed at an Eco lodge called Cashew Hill Jungle Lodge and it was exactly what I was looking for. They have uniquely designed cottages, amazing gardens, loads of birds and wildlife. They are located only a few minutes walk to PV center on a small hill with ocean views. I picked fresh fruit almost every morning for breakfast! My daily adventures varied but some of my favorites were the Bri Bri indigenous tour, Snorkling, Waterfalls, National parks, bike trips, horse back riding, and general down time relaxing at the beach. By far the best beach in the area is a beach called Punta Uva. It is a picturesque beach with clear blue water, soft white sand, and cold beer served right on the beach. Mazanillo was also very nice. If you can make it down there(12 kilo from PV) Check out Maxis restaurant and the tail at the end of the beach
