laza de la independencia (Plaza Grande) Plaza de la independencia, in de volksmond ook wel Plaza Grande genoemd, is gelegen in het oude stadsdeel van Quito.
Dit plein staat op de Unesco lijst.
Op dit plein staat het Monumento de la independencia, een standbeeld ter nagedachtenis aan de onafhankelijkheidsstrijd die in 1809 eindelijk werd gerealiseerd.
Aangrenzend aan het plein vind je onder andere de Cathedral de Quito en het Palacio de Carondelet.
Echt een mooi plein dat zeker een bezoek waard is!
