28/07/2012 Tourist information and a couple of small shops in town, with a larger supermarket just down the road.
Quiet but nice for a gentle stroll.
We didn't go into the chateau or its grounds, so unable to comment.

03/11/2011 Not to be missed is the impressive chateau which dominates Hautefort and the surrounding countryside. It's a pretty town, its buildings typical of the Dordogne architecture with wonderful mellow exposed stone walls and red tiled roofs. The restaurants serve delicious regional fare such as duck in various forms and cepes and their prices won't break the bank! Lots to see and do in the vicinity. One of the best caves in France is 10 minutes' drive away. Lots of walks to choose from and an excellent fishing lake.

08/02/2008 A very nice place in the Dordogne. The lovely castle was the greatest!! Worth visiting.
