nice old French city with enough places to go out present and a number of good restaurants.
It was also notable to us that people were very pleasant, certainly worth a visit.

from a surrounding camp-site we visited the city. Not very clean and with messy, unfriendly looking suburbs. The centre of town is, however, nice only there are in France many nicer cities. The surrounding area (Doubs) is great.

We stayed 2 nights in chambre d'hôte aboard of a ship; La Péniche Quiétude. Very pleasant at the foot of the Citadel, in the city with everything within walking distance.
