08/05/2008 Just returned from a holiday on Le Bois de Valmarie (May 2008). pleased us really well (2 adults, 2 kids aged 8/9). Beautiful camp-site, not that large, very suitable for children, swimming pool. Not suitable for adults to swim rounds, but certainly excellent for young children. The camp-site is located very beautifuly, in the area of port Argeles and the beach is within walking distance. It is striking for this place, where there are so many camp-sites, that this is the only camp-site in this part of Argeles. Compliments to Pascal and the people from the kids' club. They take pleasure in what they do! On the camp-site there is a restaurant where you can eat very well and a supermarket where a Dutch guy bakes the most delicious bread (baquettes). only comment is this: the trailers stand very close to each other, but that is the only bad thing.

30/12/2007 Small, quiet and well-looked after camp-site. Sanitary facilities nice and well maintained. pool great, also for the small children. Camp-site is sloping, therefore with a buggy it is, from time to time, hard going. Unfortunately, most stands have pebbles. Therefore it is difficult to crawl around for small kids. There are some places with grass. Perhaps aplly for these in advance. In September unfortunately no entertainment team present. Because of less sunny weather, we when to visit many places in the second week. Argeles its past its prime. Perpignan is also not really worth it. However, Barcelona (2 hour's drive) and Gerona are doable and of course worth the visit! great cities! Beside Argeles, lies the beautiful Collioure, nice to shop and eat there.
In short, very good camp-site. Not that suitable with older children. Then you had better book one of the large camp-sites on the other side of Argeles.

11/10/2007 Beginning September; we went for 2 weeks. Stands are not spacious and all surrounded by large pebbles, try to keep your children's knees from bleeding, it is impossible. around the trailer there is not much green scenery. Shop at the pool closed last week which is a shame. pool is very suitable for small children. Restaurant very good and also a shop with good fresh bread! Pascal from Vacansoleil is a nice guy.

10/10/2007 We were here from the 1st - 15th of September, a wonderfully quiet period in spite of the fact that all trailers were occupied. A splendidly located camp-site (built on terraces) with an excellent restaurant with service in Dutch. Good connection to Argeles via the tourist train that runs every hour. In short, a must!!!

02/10/2007 We went the last 2 weeks of September, as a result of which everything was very quiet. Trailers are very new, and therefore tidy and clean. Kitchen and lounge area are relatively large, but bathroom, toilet and bed rooms are very small. But well, 24m by 2m is also not much. Stands were very good, because of the position, in the forest, most stands are full of shade. We fortunately had a stand in the sun, requested in avance, which, at the end of September, is very nice.
Swimming pool is nicely designed (3 levels) with several slides and a jacuzzi part. Floor in front of pool was stiff and that was safe. I can imagine, however, that the pool and sunbathing area (wooden tiles with beds) can in the high season be a bit full, but then you should go more often to the sea, which is very near anyway. Sea slopes down rapidly, after 2 or 3 metres you can no longer stand up. Not nice for small children.

08/09/2007 Stayed for the past 2 weeks on this camp-site with our child aged 2.5 years. We really liked it. Reception and staff on the camp-site were very good.
We had a trailer in a dead-end lane where hardly any cars go. Rather large garden (with pebbles) with enough privacy. This certainly does not apply to all trailers.
Camp-site is located in a quiet piece of Argeles and the beach and the port are within walking distance. With the train, that stops at the camp-site you have an easy connection to the touristisc spots of Argeles. Pool was perfect. In the high season, however, there are few deck chairs, but for us in the late season there was enough place.
Restaurant and shop are good, just a shame that you can't take away meals from the menu.
Some more play/sportsfield would be nice. Children must now play in the lane and at the trailer.
Tips: Coulioure, evening market and a kids' fair in Argeles Plage.
All in all a very good experience and certainly worth another visit.

02/09/2007 We were here from 12 August to 30 August with two children aged 4 years and 10 months. We have had enormously good time, especially because it is a camp-site that is very targeted towards families with young children. (You have therefore no noise till 05.00am ) The restaurant and shop are very good and the staff is very nice. Eurocamp was also terriblly good. The spots are not very large but cosy. Because of the differences in height, the trailers are sometimes somewhat dangerous for the children. The pool is super, our eldest loved the 5 slides! Tepee leads the mini disco and the mini club with much enthusiasm, bjorn has enjoyed it there. Furthermore he made a lot of friends on the camp-site, which was very nice for us too. The surroundings are splendid, especially Couilioure. It is nice that the camp-site in le Racou lies in the quiet part of Argeles.
All in all, a very little to complain about really a must for families with children up to the age of 10!!

29/08/2007 Wonderful camp-site. Thanks to the strategic position in the neighbourhood of Racou and the port of Argeles you are not in the busiest area. The pool was clean and the five slides ensured we had a good time. Sanitary facilities were alright. Take aways and food from the restaurant on the camp-site were great! We have eaten deliciously.

Tip for the daily shopping: is the ED in Port Vendres (D 914) junction Port de Commerce. Few
tourists and it is good value fro money. A must is a visit to Villefranche de Conflent (85 km) where a train goes into Jaune de Pyrenees. We rode with it Mont Louis. A splendid excursion through a breathtaking landscape.

Also a visit to Barcelona and Camp Nou (194 km) can be recommended. Splendid city and also the stadium is worth a visit. In the area of the stadium you can park. The city can be visited and examine well by bus touristic. Our boys (10 and 7) have had a wonderful holiday thanks to the entertainment from tepee. A must!
