01/09/2009 The site is lovely, situated not far from the beach & in a lovely region of Normandy.
The swimming pool complex is great although you may well struggle to find a sunbed as people are in the area first thing in the morning putting towels on them to reserve them and then some people don't come back until much later in the day to claim them - this is not policed at all! In hot weather, the pools do get very busy and again in peak season we found that there were a lot of people jumping in, throwing & pushing friends in and generally making a nuisance of themselves. Now for the bad bit - The majority of the Thomson (who we booked with) & other UK holiday unit sare situated very close to the main entertainment area/swimming pool area which is great for convenience but not great at 9pm when the entertainment starts! This gets VERY noisy from 9pm until 11pm, sometimes midnight - we stayed there Aug 2008 & enjoyed the evening ambience but this year it was very different!

18/08/2008 Camping Cote de Nacre is a small campsite with all the usual French camping facilities. Not much for teens to do but excellent for smaller kids with a clean and well organised swimming complex and playground. Occasional night time entertainment and a good on site eatery. Shop small and high priced, free WiFi in the bar area. 10 mins walk through the town to the beach

St Aubin-sur-mer is a small well organised resort with many private holiday flats and holiday homes built right up to the promenade. A few good restaurants but you need to book for busy periods. Very clean beach with excellent promenading and jogging capabilities. Lots of seaweed but also lots of golden sand :-)

A great base for seeing Normandy, Bayeaux, WWII sights not to be missed, Mont St Michel, Lisieux, Caen (don't miss the Memorial Museum)

27/06/2008 We just came back from camping La Cote where we stayed for a week. We booked a caravan through Vacansoleil and it was great. A clean and complete caravan. The shower was clean (with our own sanitary). A lovely pool and it was also well kept. You will not hear us complain about La Cote de Nacre!

12/06/2008 We went in the May holiday. In a mobile home from Canvas. Very beautiful and clean accomodation. Nice camp-site, much to do for the children. Beautiful swimming pool, which we used each day. Near the beach, at the beginning there is much sea weed, but if you walk a bit further have you cleaner parts of the beach where you have much privacy. Located amidst all D-day places of interest. In short, a great camp-site. Where we shall certainly return again.

27/06/2008 A good camping site, kind people at the reception, very helpful and they really tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible. They gave us a safer spot for our two year old. The shop was rather expensive, but quite handy when you are in need of something. The supermarkets were closed on Sunday. One supermarket was open on Sunday, the one 4 kilometres from the camping site. It is pretty nice when you arrive on Saterday. The supermarkets were opened till 19:30 o'clock.

22/06/2008 We stayed at camping La Cote de Nacre last week. We hired an apartment through Canvas. The apartment was clean. The bed was a bit small for me. I am 1,87m long. The only drawback if you ask me. There was no tv or radio available, but we already knew this. We had a great time. Lots of places of interest in the area. It was not very cosy, but it will be during the high season.

14/06/2008 We have just returned, we are a family with a baby; 10 months old. It was really a wonderful holiday.
Village itself is very quiet but we knew that in advance. Much to be seen in the surrounding area. camp-site shop expensive, but we found the supermarkets also not cheap, France is simply more expensive than the Netherlands, but you are on holiday after all!!
In short, for us this was a great holiday.

06/09/2007 We went in the high season in a touroperator caravan. It was alright. There is not much to do for teenagers or their parents. It was very boring, fortunately there were many places of interest in the area we wanted to visit. Don't wanna think about being stuck here for 2 weeks.

04/09/2007 We had an old mobile home where the nights were hard to endure because of the heat. Later we heard from all of the staff of our touroperator that next year the place will be pulled down, we had rather known that in advance!! In the village there is indeed hardly anyhing. dirty beach full of stinking seaweed, you smell that stench if you walk on the boulevard. Only 3 restaurantjes at the boulevard, where the staff is not all that pleasant.
Camp-site itself, however, is reasonable. shop is very expensive. you'd really better go to the supermarche.

05/09/2007 We stayed here for 1.5 weeks with a trailer. We had a nice stand although it was a tad bit small. We have two small children, aged 2 and 5. They had a really good time. There were some activities organised at the camping but there is also enough to do in the area. We went to the zoo de jurques, girafou in benouville (which is an indoor-playground), chateau de fontaine-henry close to Coursuelles. A nice castle with a tour and games for kids. The sanitarty facilities were regularly cleaned. We were in the old part which had the new sanitary fittings. There is not much privacy in the new part at all! The weather was not very good to us, but to whom it ever is?
