19/08/2008 I Have to say, its hard to beat this site, in an area of outstanding scenery, the river , lac de castellion etc.. The weather was fantastic, a very enjoyable 2nd year here. The roads and oncoming traffic, straight at you are no better, so beware!! Castellane is a lovely small town, about 1 mile walk. Great to get out of the sun with a morning coffee or afternoon drink. Market day in saturday, some very tasty olives & oil on sale. its a long drive from calais, but worth every mile drive down with the caravan, took us 2 days.

The evening entertain is okay on 3 of the 7 days. My teenage children found the freedom of the site to be of there liking, very safe, evening campfire on river beach from 11pm. Restaurant menus are not that extensive , its either Pizza or Pasta, however buy your own food and BBQ with a glass of cold wine :-)

08/09/2007 We spent the last 2 weeks of August at Camp du Verdon and loved it!

A nice campsite. We had a pretty stand for our tent (near the river).

25/08/2007 Just got back from Camp du Verdon in Castellane. It's situated in a beautiful area but we'll never go back to it. Dirty, outdated sanitary, often cold showers. Extremely strict security! Not just for youngsters but adults were also spoken to in a way whic

24/05/2008 We enjoyed location & site. Good for children. river & activities good, with river near site. good weather, a great kept secret by french. French a little strict over so called laws with "speedo / lyca" swim trunks in pools. Not all sites are this strict. However dont let this put you off, this is a great unspoilt location, typically french. we loved it, no many brits :-) . We are going back this year. watch the journey in, some great views , roads a little tight with caravan.

20/02/2008 We stayed for 10 days on this camp-site in July 2007 and had a very nice holiday. The children (aged 7 and 10) could go their own way, especially the fish pond was to their the taste. Also the entertainment at night was very cosy.
Furthermore, the surrounding area is of course splendid with enough water in the area to swim in.
We shall certainly return once more.

29/08/2007 Campsite is beautifully situated!
Ground stays wet long after it stopped raining, so make sure you get a gravel stand. Big stands, very diverse. Entertainment every night, but of very poor quality.
Little to do for children in between the ages of 12 and 1

19/02/2008 Quiet camp-site, splendid region. Showers maintain poorly. Few places to eat and expensive. For sporty types much to do in the area. Camp-site itself was not worth 4 stars, I find if you compare this with other 4 star camp-sites in Italy or Spain very mediocre.
