21/05/2012 Toen de Pruisische stadsversterkingen in 1890 waren verwijderd was de tijd er om nieuwe parochiekerken te bouwen. De derde nieuwe kerk bij de stadsuitbreiding werd de in 1904 voltooide Evangelist kerk, gebouwd door Johannes Vollmer. Tijdens WO II in 1944 leed deze ernstige schade tijdens een luchtaanval en brandde volledig uit. 1951-1954 Herbouwd door Heinrich Otto Voge in vroegere vorm en herontworpen: zuinig en eenvoudig. Interieur-restauratie tot 1990 met nieuwe kleurenversie.
