29/06/2008 We have stayed at San Marco Villas for 3 weeks. If I read all the negative stories here I wonder what it's like in the homes of these people. We had a very positive experience with this apartment and its owner. If there's a problem he will solve it. The apartment is cleaned every day by the maids. Every day fresh towels and 3 times a week fresh sheets (a tip works miracles).
The restaurant was fine.
Leo is a fine host. The town of Ipsos is indeed not much but at walking distance there's an excellent Greek, Italian and British restaurant opposite the gas station. This is a very central location in Corfu. Very suitable for trips by scooter or car. Is everything great? No, of course not. It's still Greece and if you want everything to be perfect you have to pay more money.

25/06/2008 We just returned form Corfu, San Marco Villas. We liked it very much. Neat apartment and a lovely view. We had view of the pool and the sea. Very nice. The food was fine and the waiters were friendly. The price/quality ratio was OK. The owner is a friendly and calm man, contrary to other comments. The pool is well maintained. The only minus is refreshing the towels; only twice a week. In any case we had a nice and quiet holiday. Fine address!

03/06/2008 We just went to San Marco Villas for a week. Apartment was fine, 2 big bedrooms, spacious bathroom and a hall with adjoining kitchen. The view from the balcony wasn't spectacular, but we still could see the sea. It was annoying that our apartment was right next to the neighbour's garden where some dogs were running loose. The garden was used as a toilet and was literally covered in dog poop. If the sun had been on it for a few hours the stench was unbareable! We filed a complaint and the owner contacted the neighbour and 2 hours later all poop was cleaned up, for the remainder of the holiday it was cleaned up daily. The stench was less but not entirely gone after this. It's true that 50% of the apartments have a beautiful location, the other 50% have a lesser location and some of them just sheer bad. Complex itself is maintained nicely with a lovely swimming pool present. The owner doesn't talk much but he's definitely not unfriendly. Restaurant is good for a reasonable price.

03/06/2008 We enjoyed San Marco a lot. Friendly people, lovely view, at the restaurant as well. Nice swimming pool with good recliners. The village of Ipsos is not as beautiful as Corfu (a bit run down). Tip: rent a car cheap at the local shop. If you rent it via the tour operator it will be much more expensive...

09/09/2007 The two of us went here in August. We really enjoyed it. Also we found that the owner was not that unkind, if you treat someine nicely, they treat you nicely too. We rented a car via him and we can recommend it. The block of appartments was well-kept (nice balcony, spacious room, lovely pool and a nice restaurant with a pretty view). The village itself does not have much to offer (many snack bars and clubs but not many shops or nice restaurants). You'd be best to rent a car or scooter to explore the island. In all we found this was a nice condo.

09/09/2007 This is a nice condo, but unfortunately the owner is not the right guy for the place. The rosy evaluations on this site made us decide to come here. It was a shame that the place wasn't really like it was described by others. Pay attention: about half of the appartments have no view at all!

09/09/2007 Nice and clean appartments. The owner of the condo is very unkind and is not interested in his guests at all. In the weekend his children (and family) come terrorise the pool. If you have booked a 2 room appartment, don't expect it to have a lounge, it's just 2 bedrooms. Inside there are no tables or chairs or sofa. You receive clean towels once a week. The food in the restaurant was disappointing, it was not much and not authentically Greek. Via a steep and veru busy road you can get to the narrow pebbled beach within 15 minutes. In all, this accommodation is not really value for money, which you'd expect from a 4 star hotel (it was more like a 2-3 star hotel). Do NOT rent a car from Chrispher (down by the sea, 1st street on the right) or the owner.

08/08/2007 We had a fantastic and beautiful vacation. Especially the waiter was very helpful and charming! The owner was a bit grumpy, but we didn't see him much. Too bad we arrived too soon and weren't allowed to enter the apartment yet. We had a rental car and the friendly hostess arranged that well. We made a nice bustrip over the island and a boattrip to the mainland of Greece with a super sandy beach. And diving from the boat into that beautiful blue-green sea. Corfu was lovely!!

21/07/2007 The accommodation was excellent, although this could vary. Our apartment had a wooden floor. This floor was very noisy; the people below us could hear us walk. Eventually they moved to a much small studio flat. We had a double room apartment. Everything was neat and clean, but they didn't offer us a place to sleep when we arrived too early, for our 10 month old son. The tour operator travel guide fixed us another accommodation. So that was why we could compare San Marco with the other accommodation in Guvia. San Marco was excellent, but the owner wasn't very customerfriendly, unless you rented a car at his place ofcourse. He also didn't show any sympathy with us, because of the extreme heat.

06/07/2007 Super apartment, really beautiful. Excellent service and friendly staff. The owner, Costas, was very grumpy, but he always did the things he promised to do. We had a great vacation (for 10 days). Definitely worth returning to. I recommend to rend a car. The whole island was green and beautiful, also on the other side, Agios Godios and Agios Georgis, really beautiful beaches and nice taverns. I recommend it.
