Plates were picked up too fast from your table, sometimes you weren't even finished yet. Carpet in the hotelroom was not hygenic.
The hotel looks fine, location is pretty quiet. A loud disco next to it though, food is reasonably good, you can pick what you want. A very arrogant and dominant owner, watch out for him!! Rooms are very clean, every day clean towels, pool is spacious and clean, showers below the hotel. Beach is somewhat further away but has sand. Across the hotel you will find a pebble beach. Nothing to do in the evenings, nice and quiet if that's what you're looking for. Shop on their own terrain, with telephone, internet is available for people with a lot of patience .....
Just got back from Crete, wheather is a bit disappointing here. Lovely view of the sea, pool and palmtrees from the bedroom. Swimmingpool has salt water and you can nicely float in it when you are in it. It does sting when it gets in your eyes and it doesn't taste good. If it bothers you too much you can always go in the indoor-pool. There is no variation in food, but there are some very tasteful things. The animationteam is great! you could join them every day: waterpolo. table-tennis, darts, soccer ( beach) volleyballlll and for the little ones there are nice dances ( which are also nice for the parents to do) t-shirt painting. Very friendly people, only the boss is very bossy, you really have to watch out for him ;-P. He doenst take no for an answer, So stick with your answer or he will try again. He lookes down on the staff. Futher its about 30 seconds from the beach and 5 minutes from the sandy beach, Without animation it would be barely 3 stars. Have fun!
We stayed at this hotel in July 2007, because our hotel was fully booked. An old hotel with a cosy bar and a nice reception. Well kept rooms. They gave us clean towels every day. Kind personnel. Good entertainment. I can recommend this hotel to people with kids (8 years and older). No baby pool. Lots of things to do in Gouves.
A nice hotel. Good food. Little variation most of the time though. Our kids (4 and 7 years old) had a great time. Good entertainment for kids and adults from 10:00-17:00 o'clock. Lots of Eatern Europeans, Italian people, German people and French people. Not much Dutch people around though. It's hard talking to these guys. Making a phonecall is very expensive. A small beach. A poor location. We had a great time though. Kind personnel at the restaurant.
