Hotel Kallia Beach isn't worth those stars. Poor management, they were rude. I didn't like the personnel. Poor food, I found some flies in it. They use the jam several times. They gave us clean bedding and towels twice a week. Ridiculous with a baby! When you ask for clean bedding they will yell at you. The hotel supposed to be close to the beach. You'll have to cross a busy street first. I'm giving this hotel 2 stars.
We had to stay at this hotel, because our hotel was fully booked. Unkind personnel at the restaurant. They just threw the food on your plate. They weren't helpful at all. The waiter was helpful. They yelled at him all the time. A great location. A lovely and clean room. Lots of Russian people around. A nice pool. A quiet hotel. Apart from the unkind personnel, it was a good hotel. They won't see me again.
For those who like a very primitive stay and lots of Greek drama, the Kalia Beach hotel would be a great starting point to explore Crete. Those who live near heathrow or another airport will feel right at home. They will hear the sound of decending planes every 15 minutes. Until after midnight. For those who like eavesdropping, this hotel is paradise. Everything your neigbours do or say can be followed in detail. I assure you, the next morning you will look very differently at your neighbour sunbathing by the pool. Next to the Greek culture the hotel also offers a change to study the information about eastern-european countries. The many guest from Poland, Russia and habitants of other ex eastern-block countries offer you a peek into their rich cultural life. They do this in an exuberant way so you don't have to miss anything
