28/08/2007 We stayed here during July 2007 as part of an island hopping trip on the Cycladic island. Santorini is a wonderful island. The Hermes hotel is brilliant. The building looks nice, the room is nice, the pool is nice and the atmosphere here is great. It's a five minute walk to Kamari's lava beach. The boulevard looks really modern. There are some nice restaurants, bars and cafes on it. I can recommend it. I can recommend visiting the Red Beach which is in the south and I can also recommend a tri to the Calder. We also like the walk (4 hours) to Fira which takes you through Firostefani and Imerovigli all the way to Oia. If you leave at around two from Fira you still have time to eat and watch the sunset in Oia before you have to head back.

27/06/2007 Rented the suite, with jacuzzi on the balcony. Don't take the promo rooms across the street. Surely not a bad hotel.

03/09/2007 We booked this hotel after having read all the good reviews on this website. We decided not to book a room at a special rate on purpose! We arrived at 22.00 and were still able to have dinner in the hotel. The receptionist brought our luggage up to our room. When we were taken to our room we started to fear the worst. He was taking us to the special offers building :-( Those rooms were three star at best. The hotel was fully booked and it was going to be three days before they could move us to a room with a view of the sea. We booked through a tour operator and they won't let the hotel overbook. We were out of luck as it meant we had to stay in the special offers room will Wednesday. Our hostess promised us a better room on Tuesday but she was wrong. Santorini is a fantastic island. The food here is nice and the prices here are good. Oia and Fira are a must and Kamari's boulevard has plenty of entertainment and some really nice restaurants! I would definitely come and stay on the island again!!!!
