30/09/2009 This hotel is an example to others. It is family owned, professionally managed and the staff team are friendly and efficient. It caters for about 380 guests which makes it large enough to be sociable without being too large and impersonal. It is nicely designed and built with good air flow and is very clean. Everything you need for an enjoyable and relaxing holiday is available.

A lot of people like the quieter location of the Hotel Platanista with easy access to Kos Town/Port. It is just off the main road but still very quiet.

The rooms are spacious and bright with everything you would need for the stay including air conditioning that works!

The food is very good and I have never been unable to find something to eat that I liked.

Where the hotel really shines is the friendly and engaging staff with whom you can genuinely build a relationship.

It is not the cheapest 4 star hotel on the island and there is a good reason for that... it is better than the others!

10/09/2007 An excellent hotel with 2 large pools surronded by a wonderfully designed garden. The reception staff is kind, but the waiting staff could be a little friendlier, they are polite but aloof. The food has plenty of variation and is very tasty it well prepared. The hotel is cleaned well too. The advantage about this hotel is that you are in Kos city within 10 mins. Kos city is lively and is very cosy, it has a positive vibe. To go to the beach I recommend renting a car or scooter so that you can go to Tigaki beach for example, as it is beautiful there. In short, we can recommend it.

09/09/2007 We stayed in this hotel from August 13-28, 2007. We were surprised to read the comments. Who can opinions vary so much? We too are used to 4-5 stars hotels and we thought this was a very good/nice hotel. The evening meals were friom a buffet but it was frequently filled up. Tastes differ and you are not at home! The employees at the reception were very friendly and spoke English, German and French. There were quite a few guests there in the period we went who had a coloured bracelet which meant they stayed full board, but no distiction was made between themand paying customers. Also we were towels to take with us because of out late flight and we were allowed to used the clean showers at the sauna with it. We certiainly had a very good holiday here and this was also thanks to the stay in this wonderful hotel! We will definitely come here again.

12/09/2007 Entertainment with very lous music (till 12pm) which was annoying in some rooms. After we 'move' rooms, it was no problem.

29/08/2007 A horrible hotel !!! Really bad !!! And as for that shampoo, in every good hotel, you get new ones after you have used them and it is not because we can't get it ourselves but the hotel should just supply us with it. This was the case in every hotel we have been to before, but oh well, they tended to be 5 star hotel and we will go to another next year!!! Because this is not worth 4 stars !! People who think this place is good are not used to good service. It was really BAD !!!

29/08/2007 This hotel had only one downside, namely that if other hotels have double bookings, they take on all the full board guests. When you have to search quite hard for a hotel doesn't do full board in the first place. Book half board as there are hardly any full board hotels anyway. There should be touroperators who came up with a new term: ABSOLUTELY NOT FULL BOARD and IRRITATION-FREE ENTERTAINMENT? The hotel would be really excellent if it wasn't for this.

29/08/2007 The hotel loos luxurious and is very clean too. not clean Greek style, but really clean. The room look wonderful too and there was a silent and integrated a/c. Furthemore, there were 2 nice pools, the food was elaborate, and the place was very close to the centre of Kos (1min on a scooter). And down by the seaside there a many cosy restaurants. We had a view through palmtrees, of the pools and the sea (room 555). There is a pebbled beach about 100 yds away, but I did not go to it. The really nice beaces are not to be found on Kos, but just outside of it, like Tigaki and Marmari. It takes about 15 mins on scooter and it is a nice drive.
