lots of traffic and parking hard to find.
It is not a good idea to rent a car just to drive around budapest

18/10/2009 A really nice city with a lot of history and a lot of things you can visit.
People are friendly and try to help you when you are in trouble. The public transport is really useful if you are a tourist but the machines for buying tickets are not that friendly (the responses of the machine are in Hungarian).
Visiting the surroundings of the building of the Parliament is a must since the view to the Danube is unforgettable. Also enjoying dinner on the Danube bank is a unique experience.
The city looks great during day but also in the night when the Danube bridges are beautifully lighted.
The traditional Hungarian food is really good, maybe too spicy for some dishes. The waiters help you if you try to order dishes that don't go well combined.

05/02/2008 Wonderful city with lots to do and see. Public transport is indeed great and cheap. TIP: AVOID TAXIS!!!!! You really don't need them. They will always try to cheat you. Even the locals call them hyenas and don't use them!!!

29/12/2007 Very nice, historic city with stately palaces and colourful buildings in secession style built which much fantasy. A melting pot of cultures and peoples. Not much tourism compared with Prague and Vienna; it's a rather expensive city though, except for pub
