07/11/2010 chennai is heel anders dan delhi, toch iets minder armoede, veel grote gebouwen, grote wegen en wat een strand.. een van de breedste van de wereld, en zo blauw! alleen westers eten en heel indisch!

25/02/2010 Kom je met de trein vanuit Mumbai, hou er dan rekening mee dat er vaak en lang vertraging is op het spoornet. We kwamen dan ook zo laat aan, dat we nauwelijks iets van de stad konden zien.
In de Sint Thomas Basiliek zou volgens de overlevering de apostel Thomas begraven liggen.

18/02/2013 Madras of Chennai is te groot om op enkele dagen te ontdekken. Het doet me denken aan Bangkok. Veel verkeer, lawaai, drukte en gevaar (als gevolg van het verkeer). Dit in combinatie met de warmte en de vochtigheid maken dat Chennai niet mijn favoriete stad is. Verder naar het zuiden in Matrimandir (Puducherry) en het Rock Fort in Tiruchirappalli is meer te zien van de (zuid) Indische cultuur
