02/05/2010 We stayed in Villa Ombak because it was supposed to be high quality and quiet, compared to some parts of the island. However on 1 May there was a big party which lasted till 04.00 in the morning with dance and trance music. We stayed in a bungalow appr. 150 meters away and could not sleep because of the basses. We requested the hotel to stop but besides saying they were sorry, nothing could be done about it. They have started this as a promotion. If you pay appr. 175 us dollars per night you do not want this kind of noise in your room

Besides this Gili Trawangan is beautiful. Please also be aware to check your bill. We had some items on the bill that we did not have (i.e. 2 tea instead of 1, things out of the minibar) and they did nog believe us so we had to pay for this.
