18/09/2008 meta is a glimpse of real life in small town italy.
although the beaches and cafe's are very welcoming to children, it is more an adult location.
however it is not a party town, if you are looking for a taste of real italian life and relaxed atmosphere this is the place for you.
Meta is an excellent base for visiting other towns on the amalfi coast; a short walk takes you into beautiful piano di sorrento, where there is a local maket every monday morning. a short trip on the pullman bus can take you into the main town of sorrento, a stunning italian town full of culture where there are many bars, hotels and a couple of clubs. you can also visit positano, pompei and amalfi, a short train journey from sorrento.
