Requires some TLC
Camped here (motorhome) several times. Very busy site. Sanitary facilities require some repair and modernisation although kept clean. Lovely location and good restaurant.
This camping site was too busy for us (two children of 3 years old and 11 months old). We rented a bungalow tent and it was put on such a small place, the car barely fitted there. . The swimming pool is gorgeous but as busy as an ants nest, even in the low season. The run for the sun beds is not really necessary in my opinion if everyone just picks a bed when they actually want to go for a swim and then take their stuff with them afterwards. The animation was very nice and well taken care of. The sanitary buildings were fine with lovely showers. It is very nice to walk to the market in Peschiera. Swimming in the lake is nice and cool which isn't the case with the heated swimming pool in the afternoon. The swans won't hurt you...and the lake is cooler than the swimming pool. For people that like a busy camping site it is recommendable.
We just got back from a 2 week stay in a caravan of Roan. Booked it through De Jong Intra. Quite recommendable because I heard a lot of complaints about Vacanceselect. They are not expensive but the first 1.5 days you're busy cleaning the caravan. And if you didn't have hot water (which is kind of a problem with small children) they would come to help you the next day (after promising it would take about an hour for them to come). But we had nothing to complain about. The food in the restaurant wasn't very special, expected a bit more. Poorly filled pizza, almost raw vegetables. But we were able to cook something ourselves too. Nice swimming pool for the little ones at the apartment complex. We didn't even go to look at the big swimming pool, there were people waiting even before the gate opened (to see who was the fastest at laying their towel on a sun bed). And the paths weren't child friendly; we couldn't buy enough plasters. The lake doesn't look like you want to have a swim in it indeed. But with 35 degrees it were 2 hot and nice weeks.
Very child friendly holiday park. There is a lot available and a lot to do for the children. The location is beautiful and nice and close to Peschiera. You actually don´t have to leave the park at all.
Beautiful camping site, excellent places. Many Dutch and German people. The serving staff in the restaurant and shop weren't hospitable. This was the same in the shops and restaurants in the surrounding towns. The camping site is a good base to visit several places in the area like: Venice, Verona and Milano. This is easy to do by car as well as by public transport.
The only disadvantage was the fighting over a sunbed at the swimming pool.
We stayed in the bungalows which seemed to be the best placed accommodation in the village, but could have been cleaner. It is huge site with very good facilities and in a great location. It is very busy and in high season it may seem to be overcrowded. Child friendly and good for families.
We booked this camping site through Go4Camp. Nice reception with some explanation of the activities in the surrounding area. The rented accommodation was very clean. At the site there was still plenty of holiday atmosphere left (despite the end of season (15-22 September)). We took many trips by train, like Venice and Verona. From Pachiera to Venice costs only 31 euros for 2 return tickets.
We stayed here from 11-25 September. We stayed in a trailer with covered terrace, this was fine. No towel race, there were plenty of beds and sun screens. No hindrance from music or collecting trash. Nice spot on the camping site. Only a shame that the water level of the lake was low, at least 3m from the side, algae were exposed and that stank. Furthermore it was a nice and neat camping site with a good shop, nice restaurant an pizzerias. Fine for kids. I can imagine that you don't want to be here during high season because then the number of sun beds and sun screens will probably be limited. Also the surrounding area, the villages and the larger cities are definitely worth a visit.
