01/06/2008 We have just returned and it was love at first sight upon arrival. Many flowers and very pleasant staff. Something we did not encounter on the Continent. The season had not really started yet, because they were still busy with maintenance on several things. We had a spot right at the top, with a view of the bay. Large stand. No nuisance from mosquitos/or noise or anything whatsoever. I think that there are very new sanitary facilities because they looked very nice. We had nice ice cream and pizzas. I think, however, if you would rent something, that it could be a different story. The accommodation were tightly fit, we did not use the swimming pool, although it all looks very nice. Elba itself is small and easy to reach and the roads on the island are really good. The scenic route on the west side is very beautiful to drive along (anticlockwise).
