The hotel is part of the African Safari Club. We have stayed for two weeks at the Shanzu Beach. Everything is geared towards making the holiday maker pay as many Euro's to the ASC as possible. The rooms, toilets and shower cabins are simple and oldfashioned. A renovations is desirable. There is no fridge or TV in the room. It is not worth 4 stars. De landscaped, green gardens are magnificent. The swimming pools are manually cleaned on a daily basis. Every day there are monkeys in the garden. We made a 3-day safari to Ambosseli and Tsavo-East through a local operator. We also booked the boattrip to Wasini Island, saw dolphins and have snorkelled. The safaris and excursions that are offered throught the hotel are more expensive. Souvenirs, etc. are much less expensive on the village beach (outside the barrier). The ASC concentrating on Germans.
