Magnificent lodge, not to be confused with the Samburu Serena Lodge. Samburu (wildlife) Lodge is situated on the north shore of the river, near the western border of the Samburu NP. Very hospitable with a nice swimming pool. The rooms are sub-divided in small cottages with a small veranda where one can sit outside, though not entirely free because of the monkeys. The cottage has a shower, a toilet and a ceiling fan. The lodge is spread out and has a large veranda deck over the river in the shape of a banda. At night the spotlights are mostly illuminating the other side of the river. Late afternoon they used to hang slabs of meat to lure the leopards. Since 2005 it is forbidden to do this in wildlife parks. Around half past six anyone can visit the lodge and watch the feeding of the crocodiles that turn up at about that time of the evening.
