Ansiranana ligt aan een prachtige baai, met het bekende heilige eiland. De stad is vrij rustig en heeft een aardig centrum. Maak ook een mooie wandeling op de Franse berg, waar je boven nog wat overblijfselen van het vreemdelingen legioen kun vinden.
