In February last we stayed for a few days in B&B Ambassagou in Bamako, Mali. This really has been a pleasant surprise. The enthusiastic Dutch/Malian couple running this place immediately made us feel at home. This spacious house is neat and the three guest rooms are large and most importantly very clean. The prices are very reasonable. We found plenty of shadow round the building and under the mango trees on the premises. If desired the owner Gina will prepare you an excellent meal, whether it be Dutch, Indonesian, or typically local. The house is situated in a quiet street in an otherwise lively area of the capital. We found a market and shops nearby. This very nice B&B hotel is strongly recommended as a starting point when you plan a round trip in Mali and specifically the land of the Dogon. The owners appeared very helpful in planning such trips.
