14/05/2013 The cabin was neat ,but small.The bathroom so very small. Our House cleaning service was great.Drinks is not so expensive.The boat interior is beautiful and very clean.
BUT,the food was so bad.How can you serve hamburgers and hot dogs on a cruise of this standard ..Not homemade patties ,but patties from a box.Cheap,thin and oily. They serve this every day on the upper deck.On the other side they serve pizzas.You cannot call it pizzas,but breads with cheese or salami
The inside restaurants serve the same tasteless food every day.There is only maybe one curry dish that they change every other day.Breakfast is just very plain breakfast.We love good food and have traveled by boat before.This was just so not what we expected and every day that passed we became more and more disappointed.
The entertainment was nice.We enjoyed it.
The boat is for people that love to eat and do not care what they eat.
It is also for people that like to travel in groups with group games.It is not romantic.

06/06/2011 Service by wait staff-mostly very good. Evening entertailnment- quite short but excellent. Food -pretty repetitious -drinks an astronomical price. Prices for cocktails or a gin and tonic started at €6. Daily service charge- way to high at €6 per person per day. Excursion prices unrealespecially for St Petersburg. Tours never left on time so that trips weren't as long as expected and missed out some features that were advertised.
The ship experienced a huge electrical fault and resultant loss of power and no lights, hot water or hot food as a result. It was thecomplete mismanagementi of the situation that had passengers rebelling. There was no information or consultation. We received news from New Zealand and South Africa before we were told on board. Captain and officers refused to see a passengers' delegation and never made an appearance. Disembarkation and return to UK was a NIGHTMARE and I shudder to think of the outcome if this ship ever suffered life threatening conditions

13/08/2010 First time Cruise with MSC Opera. NEVER EVER AGAIN.
Awful ship. Staff had the could not care attitude. Full of
unruly children running along the corridors till gone past
12.30 a.m. when checked given a load of abusive language.
When we complained we so told 'they are on holiday too'.
Children in the big pool from the age of 4 years. No
attendants in site. 15% service charge on every thing including
the 8 euros per day each making 18 euros per couple. Also
adding a 1 euro for charity without even asking. We give to the
charities we wish to give to and not being told you will give. Costs
of all the drinks and the tours all so expensive. How do they
arrive at 135 euros for a 3@ 1/2 hour tour! equivalent £260!!!!!!
The food was awful nearly the same menu's every day.Salads and
risotto on every single day, very small portions. I came home having
lost 2lbs! did not think that happened on a cruise.

19/07/2009 We had a great cruise to Norway and the Fjords and had no problems. The cabin was great.
