Reviews Apartment Rocha Brava ****

Nice and spacious complex with charming gardens and palm trees. A good place for people who, like my partner, moves in a wheelchair a part of the time and for elderly people like my 80-year-old mother. It’s not a good place, however, for people who move around in a wheelchair all of the time. There are very friendly and helpful personnel here. Every day, except for Sundays, the room is cleaned and towels are changed. You are allowed to stay in your room until 5 p.m. on the check-out day. The breakfast buffet is simple and monotonous. Only one waiter is assigned to it and has to handle everything there. You have to admit that he tries really hard to make it work. The distance to the beach is around 1 km. You will definitely need a car if you want to see the local sights.

We stayed in a complex with a very nice surrounding and beautiful gardens in Carvoeiro. Unfortunately the apartments there are not worthy of their four stars. The interiors are timeworn and would need some renovating (e.g. the sliding doors are too heavy and have a tendency of sliding by themselves). The mattresses are rigid and the beds creak. Additionally, the bed for two only had 1.40 m in width. The hygienic conditions in the apartment are disappointing. The bathroom(s) were clean but the floors in the living room and the kitchen were not. Our towels were not changed on two occasions. We had to file a complaint to get new ones. There was no air-conditioning in the living room – not too comfortable. Air-conditioning in the bedroom worked fine. The personnel were friendly. We liked the hotel pools but we didn’t like it that some people reserved seats using towels. You were able to do your shopping in a nearby supermarket. The hotel had a restaurant where the prices were above standard but there were plenty of local places where you could eat (we recommend Julio’s Restaurant). Within 15 minutes of walking distance is the most beautiful beach in Carvoeiro and it is takes 30 minutes to walk to the town center (3 km away).

Good location. Lots of Englishmen, a few Dutch tourists as well. There is a very nice children’s club open in full season. There are also a few pools here which are perfect for children. The rooms could be cleaned more carefully and the equipment should be replaced with a new one. It all looks better in pictures than in reality. But it’s not too bad. It was great to have a washing machine in the kitchen. The area surrounding the hotel is very green and nicely maintained.

This is an amazing resort with lovely apartments. Really nicely maintained. The staff were really friendly and breakfast was really nice (served near the large pool). Can recommend this place and can recommend hiring a car too.

Nicely laid out complex which is great for families. The apartment was lovely (602). We had lots of clean towels and the service was great. Can recommend hiring a car as the area is amazing. In other words: great place to go on holiday!

We have just returned from 8 days Rocha Brava. We had a wonderful holiday, also thanks to the more than excellent stay there. Food in the restaurant at the park (O' Farol) was of a high standard. Fish and meat are a must. Apartments have been spaciously set up and were clean. Surrounding area is splendid and quiet (for the high season). Having a car can be recommended.

A beautiful location. A great environment. A well-kept pool suitable for children. Great breakfast, a lot to choose from. I can recommend hiring a car. I can also recommend Carvoeiro with some lovely restaurants and bars. We'll be back for sure!!!

I love Rocha Brava. I can recommend hiring a car. We enjoyed the environment. I wasn't satisfied about the stove and the washing machine.

A nice park. A poor apartment. An ordinary bathroom, not very clean. A dirty living room, lots of ants around (even in the beds and bathroom). It's quite an expensive stay.
