Reviews Hotel Pestana Palace *****

Extremely pleasant and helpful staff. Haunt of many pop stars and dignitaries. Great spa and very relaxing stay. A lot of the staff are quite young and inexperienced. A little far from the old town.One minor point. perhaps trivial but, we notice they give a free dish of nuts with each drink order at the bar and those unused (and coughed on and fingered) are put back into the store and re-served to the next customer. Not very pleasant if they've been out on someones table and maulled over for a couple of hours. Other than that try it you won't be dissappointed.

Most rooms are located at the extension. A poor sauna/pool. The water was freezing. I liked the service and atmosphere.

A lovely hotel. Old-fashioned service. Good food. Kind and helpful personnel.

Stayed at this place with my two kids during July 2005. Nice rooms, a classic looking building. Beautiful gardens and an outdoor pool. No baby pool though. Nice breakfast, a nice dining room. I can recommend the kiosk for a snack. It's a 10 minute drive to the centre by car. There's a car park, so your car will be parked at a safe spot. A luxurious hotel, close to the centre. Great service.
