Reviews Hotel Albergaria Dias****

31/07/2011 Much prefer to stay in small and friendly places than large impersonal ones, and this was definately one of the former. Even more so with it being family run, and the hospitality, i would say is genuine. Always said i would never visit the same place twice but, the Dias's and another place in greece, (also family run) have changed our minds. Well done all.

13/03/2011 This hotel was quite nice but very much over rated in other reviews. It was very clean and the breakfast and service was lovely but no more so than most other places we have stayed in. The pool and terrace area (where people ate breakfast and lunch) was always rife with smokers and as the area is quite small this caused a lot of friction and we witnessed one couple leave their lunch after a quarrel with some smokers, we found it extremely uncomfortable. The pool was icy cold and therefore unusable!

06/06/2008 We just got back from this cosy hotel. The staff were very friendly, the location was exquisite, breakfast was majestic. I definitely recommend this hotel.

13/06/2008 Nice hotel located in the old part of Funchal. It was quiet. The service was excellent and breakfast tasted amazing. I can recommend this hotel. We really enjoyed our holiday.

03/06/2008 Just got back from a week in this amazing hotel. The staff are always friendly and the service is excellent. Breakfast is nice and they serve fresh juices. It's just fantastic! The fruit served in the morning is just lovely. I can really recommend this hotel because it is brilliant.

23/05/2008 A small hotel like we have never experienced before. You are really pampered by the staff. A good team, splendid location in the old city quarters. Service was fantastic. A must!

01/09/2007 We just returned from Madeira. The hotel was very good. It was a small hotel, but that made it cosier. The personnel was very customer-friendly. They do everything for you. The rooms were very clean. They cleaned daily and we received new towels. The breakfast looked good. And the location in the old part of Funchal was so much cosier than the new part with all the giant hotels. In the old part were all kind of small and cosy restaurants, within walking distance from Albergaria Dias (1 minute). We liked the food at Le Jardin. If we ever return to Madeira, we'll stay at Albergaria Dias again. It was super!

12/08/2007 A perfect hotel with a perfect service. The owner asked if he could do anything for us, daily. The personnel was friendly and helpful. The hotel was located in the old centre of Funchal. Nice small pool, but no baby pool. The towels, lounge chairs, parasols were all there. A good restaurant is a 5 minutes walk.

22/08/2007 A fine family hotel with nice personnel. Excellent breakfast with fresh fruit and fresh fruit juice. I recommend this hotel.
