The Island of Rona is most certainly worthwhile visiting.
It's like visiting the whole of Scotland in a nutshell.
From the harbour of Portree it was (is?) possible to visit Rona 3 times a week.
The journey itself is very nice and with a little luck you will be welcomed by the seals who search their place in the sun near the jetty at Rona.
You will probably be welcomed by Rona's caretaker as well and, ofcourse, the sheep and then you set off to discover the Island. Search the highest point and enjoy the view ! And, if you really like to feel a little bit like a Robinson rent a cottage... alone or with the whole family.
and, if you leave Rona: take of bottle of the delightful Rona Whiskey with you so you can think of this remarkable trip whenever you take a zip !
