25/06/2009 The Swissotel Merchant Court is ideally located for the tourist hot spots of Clarke Quay and Boat Quay.

I asked for a King size bed when booking but was told upon arrival I could only have 2 single beds in the smoking floor, which didn't particularly impress me or my girlfriend.

The room itself didn't particularly smell of smoke but it was very worn and tired looking, with a somewhat small bathroom. However the hallway smelled badly of smoke.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a varied choice of Asian and Western food.

Overall it was a pleasant stay but not the greatest value for money and certainly not as good as the other Swissotel - The Stamford.
