Friendly people. Bags of culture (look out for local festivals). Good range of places to eat for such a small resort. Very Spanish with very little foreign influences. If you want "egg and chips" you'll get them but you'll have to speak a little Spanish. Beautiful, long, sandy beaches where you can walk for miles. A real community spirit and a great taste of Spanish culture. Close to Barcelona (1 hour), Sitges (1/2 hour) and Tarragona (major Roman city) by local, cheap, efficient train service. Been going for 4 years now and still haven't discovered it all!
