23/04/2012 not your spanish/british resort you would find futher up the coast, still has some spanish identity

08/10/2008 Went to Los Nietos in Mar Menor. Although lots of things were closed it was great to get some sunshine. In fact it was hot! There are so many beaches to choose from and some cafes and beach bars still open in Mar de Cristal and Los Alcazares. Beaches on the Mar Menor are great for children. The water is shallow and warm. There were some in La Manga strip but we didn't have time to find them. Los Nietos was lovely with a couple of friendly bars (one English) and restaurants. The train goes to Cartegena from there as well. I think it is best to hire a car to fully appreciate the area. My friends and family go to Los Nietos every year and love it. The area is great for diving. Lots of promenades for strolls with pushchairs. Great place to go to escape the dreary British weather!

09/05/2007 Not a lot of entertainment outside the season. Good for families: playgrounds, indoor playground, beach, undeep sea. Visiting Cartagena is nice. Taking the ferry to Santiago de la Ribera / San Javier from Puerto Tomas Maestre (La Manga) is also nice.
