I have visited Mazarron many times, and now live here. The area is beautiful with numerous clean, sandy beaches. The whole coast line has been protected from high rise buildings and there are only a few small hotels. The coastal properties are mainly apartments, villas and beach houses. Most holidays are taken in private villas and apartment rentals. During July and August the Spanish families come from Madrid so it is very busy. The rest of the year it is fairly quite. No problem with parking.
There are two ports so can we accessed by boat. The Puerto de Mazarron port has been re-built and is beautiful. There are plenty of restaurants and bars and a number of night clubs. There plenty of culture with a number of protected buildings in Mazarron along with a 15th century chuch in Mazarron town square. Mazarron was a wealthy mining town in the 19th and early 20th century, the mines can still be seen and there are walking tours weekly. Mazarron's beaches are certainly a place to visit.
