Murcia is the capital of the "huerta" (orchard). This special parade will allow you to see, admire and enjoy the huerta's traditions and customs: traditional clothing, farming tools, cuisine, music, dancing, typical occupations... in a nutshell, our ancestors' rural way of life. All this will be included within a big parade, more than 5 km long, through the city centre, thanks to which more than 600,000 persons will have fun and benefit from the huertanos' generosity: they will share out, from more than 60 floats, a great variety of products from the huerta (known as "Murcia, Europe's orchard"), as well as pork products and beverages, amongst the members of the audience.
The Bando de la Huerta is celebrated every year on a Tuesday afternoon, the week after Holy Week.
