25/04/2011 Murcia is the capital of the "huerta" (orchard). This special parade will allow you to see, admire and enjoy the huerta's traditions and customs: traditional clothing, farming tools, cuisine, music, dancing, typical occupations... in a nutshell, our ancestors' rural way of life. All this will be included within a big parade, more than 5 km long, through the city centre, thanks to which more than 600,000 persons will have fun and benefit from the huertanos' generosity: they will share out, from more than 60 floats, a great variety of products from the huerta (known as "Murcia, Europe's orchard"), as well as pork products and beverages, amongst the members of the audience.

The Bando de la Huerta is celebrated every year on a Tuesday afternoon, the week after Holy Week.

14/04/2006 Really a very pretty city. Very clean and true Spanish. Lovely. There were many nice tapas bars and many restaurants. Going out was also very nice and true Spanish. We stayed there in different seasons and it's always fun. In the summer it is very hot the

26/10/2005 Great city with nice terraces and good restaurants. The surroundings were dry, but very fascinating. Especially Sierra Espuña was very pretty. Nice places in the surroundings, like Caravaca de la Cruz, Cartagena and the Mar Menor region with los Alcázares
