20/09/2012 Interlaken itself has some nice older areas, but the main street through the centre is somewhat "ordinary" with a good number of tourist shops - as well as some nice looking hotels. It is as a centre for excursions into the surrounding mountains that it excels. The legendary Swiss transport system can get you among them very easily and the infrastructure is in place to reach many of the high peaks.
There looks to be a good amount of night life though of no interest to us!

06/07/2012 A somewhat 'touristy' location and not quite the sophisticated place we remember yet it remains an excellent centre for access to the other attractions of the Bernese Oberland

02/08/2007 Ben coming for years, nice place chique with nice shops. Nice in summer too. Parking issues except at Migros close to interlaken west station.

20/09/2005 Been coming 18 years and love it. Friendly people mainly due to tourism, lots of japanese people. Worth it!
