Reviews Hotel Majesty Club Tarhan Beach****

06/09/2008 We were a little bit worried going since we had booked via Thomas Cook, who had rated it 4*, before reading any reviews. Some of the reviews (on sites like this one) were quite bad, but it was too late to do anything but go! However, the bad reviews proved unfounded.
We have been to two other club hotels in other Turkish resorts (Bodrum and Kusadasi) and this compared very favourably. There were four of us: my wife and I plus two adult children aged 19 and 22.
The isolated location was not a real drawback though Kusadasi is better, in that Ephesus is right next door, and both Bodrum and Kusadasi are more interesting as seaside resorts than Didim/Atinkum. We took the Dolmus to Atinkum once but didn’t think much of it.
I guess we can conclude that if a major tour operator rates a hotel as 4* then it probably is at least close to that.
We would go again.

06/06/2008 The staff were really friendly. The hotel was nicely maintained but it was quite a long way away from Altinkum. The security work a little too hard. You can't bring any food in. The food on site is really nice. The rooms really looked amazing. They were great with children. Entertainment isn't great but I can really recommend this place.

03/12/2007 2 weeks Tarhan (aug 2007). Fam. chambers were a disaster, everything went out of order and the outer door did not lock. Safes aren't anchored anywhere. We got a good alternative for the disastrous chamber, much smaller. Nice and close at the pool. Very slippery tiles around the pool, dangerous. wonderful breeze from the sea, not unpleasantly hot. There was much variaty in the food, but it was not my taste. Choose Tarhan if you want to be faraway from the hubbub of the city. In sea you get sharp stings, extremely unpleasant. Horribly long queues for ice cream around 4pm. Small mugs to drink from at the pool. Keep a close watch on small, much chance on accidents. Nice steps above the disco but small children will fall in no time. I am through with Turkey for a while, our youngest (2yrs) contracted salmonella bacteria and the rota virus and it is still not from his blood. Nobody knows if you have taken it with you, but I the deem the chances quite high.

07/10/2007 stayed from 22/9 to 6/10 just came back; splendid location; ideal relaxation holiday but not everything was opened (tropicbar); bufetts were varied but always returned in a couple of days; in immediate surroundings there is nothing to try therefore dolmus and bus in order to visit things. It was good value for money; we shall return there sometime a time but then stay on half board basis.
