The Emal is beautifully furnished and the gardens are stunning. Rooms are very comfortable, but a little basic. There is no TV (a plus point for many perhaps) and no fridge/mini bar (which forces you to buy cold drinks from the hotel). However, they are a good size and there is a huge shower. Insect screens on all windows was a brilliant addition and we had perhaps the best a/c unit we have ever experienced! The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful and the whole place had a good atmosphere. The hotel is Dutch owned and heavily marketed in Holland. As such almost all the guests were Dutch. In general this was no problem at all, as everyone was extremely friendly and spoke very good English. However, an English version of the hotel and excursion information in the room would have been nice. Breakfast was very fresh, but the same every day. Dinner was OK, but better choice and prices in the town or by the sea. Very few faults, but not perfect.
