we all loved the Wellington very central
A good location. The first night there was no heating on in the room so the next day I asked to be moved and we were put in a much better room. make sure you ask reception for your complementry free breakfast vouchers as the staff do not offer you them you have to ask.
Wellington really is located super great for a visit to New York. Two streets to the south of Central Park, next to Carnegie Hall and two streets behind Broadway. At walking distance from Times Square, 5th Av. And 42 Street. The room is simple and looks French but is kept clean well.
We also had 'view' of the courtyard with the aircos but thanks to the room airco the window could stay closed. And what good is a view if you're in New York all day?
Don't feel like a fatty American breakfast? Then walk toward Central Park, just opposite Carnegie Hall you can have a nice European breakfast with bread and marmalade at Le Pain Quotidien; highly recommendable (922 th Av.).
I've been there 2 times. I recommend it. Within walking distance from Central Park and Time Square. The price-quality ratio is good.
Perfect location between Times Square, Central Park, Broadway and 5th Avenue. All "attractions" in Midtown Manhattan are within walking distance and that's the reason that next time I'll stay at this hotel again. It isn't super luxurous, but just neat and clean. We had a room on the 4th floor and had a view on a wall, but you're in New York after all, so what are you doing at your room anyway?! The people at the reception are friendly, the chambermaids are doing their job well and the janitors can show you the way in NYC. The breakfast at the Park Cafe is tasty. Not very cosy, but you won't be hungry again for a couple of hours after having that breakfast. I recommend Wellington!
The shower was good, but that's all I can say about the bathroom; it needs some maintenance. We also killed a cockroach. The whole hotel can use some modernization, it's a bit old-fashioned. The location is very good though.
Small double rooms. A small bed. One chair, one crutch, no desk, no mini bar, a bathroom with a bathtub, no separate shower cabinet.
Nice and clean rooms. We stayed on the 16th floor. A small bed and the lift bell was annoying. Close to Broadway and Times Square. A lovely hotel for this city.
We went here in february 2006, great hotel, close to Times Square and Central Parc. Don't expect too much luxury but it is nice and clean. All u need. Tv, bathroom and tub. Enjoy!
