Reviews Campsite Capfun La Paillotte ****

We went to this camping in 2006 with small children. Totally super. We did not have good weather unfortunately. The surroundings doesn't have a lot to offer. Biaritz is definitely worth paying a visit too.

I (17 years old) had a great time on this beautiful camping. A day at La Paillotte can be described as: in the morning, after breakfast, to the beach or lie down at the pool. For the active youngsters you can enter a tournament (soccer, table-tennis, etc.), but I'm not that active myself...so I didn't enter those tournaments. You can also go sailing or surfing at the lake (or swim with a couple of friends to the other side of the lake). When it's getting dark you're meeting some friends somewhere, from 22:00 or 23:00 we had to go somewhere else (orders from security guard), so we went to the forest every evening, where there was a campfire. And when there was nothing to do there, we stayed at the camping itself (with the security guard and his German shepherd on our tail). Most of the time we ended up around 3 at night on the peer of the camping and stayed there for a while to "watch the stars". A super camping. This summer we'll go there again!!

In August I stayed here for 3 weeks. I rented Lodge Lac, perfect for fishingmen. These lodges had a lot of privacy and you could fish from your porch. You weren't allowed to park the car at the lodge, there was space enough, but it was their policy, too bad. Pool and slides were super, there was always a lounge chair available. We didn't eat at the restaurant, but it looked good. The bar was nice, a take-away menu was good, but expensive. The terraces had too many steep obstacles, easy to fall. The beach of Messanges was fun, with a good restaurant on the dunes, with friendly personnel. The high waves were quite dangerous for the little kids, but luckily there were plenty of good lifeguards.

Very well maintained camping with a very tropical look. Quiet location with a tropical swimming paradise! You could get a nice meal at the restaurant. The temperature was perfect. Entertainment for all ages. The sanitary facilities got cleaned multiple times a day. Also the region was a good operating base for daytrips.

Good camping for parents, as well as children of all ages. Many youngsters (16+). Camping had new owner now, who build a pool with a pirate shop and nice slides at another pool. In the summer of 2008 they will build an indoor pool and replace all sanitary facilities. The camping looked neat and well maintained, with friendly personnel. In the evening a programme with music or games for the children. Nice and woody surroundings. Supermarkets at a 10 minutes drive. You could also rent very nice lodges, that gave the camping a very cosy atmosphere. Apart from the lodges you could also rent several types of mobile homes. I recommend it to all people who love a well maintained camping with entertainment for all ages. The camping was small-sclaed, so it was safe and surveyable for small children.
