Reviews Campsite Yelloh! Village Les Petits Camarguais *****

This is geared for middle class french familes that are looking for a long weekend or 'grand vacances' break. Reception is excellent and well organized, people speak some english, and there is a good shop with english, dutch and german newspapers and good mini-supermarket. Excellent pool and laundrette, good cheap cycle hire available so no need to bring your bikes - save the agro chaining them every night. On-site resutaurant and pizzeria was of good quality although recommended to bring your own food otherwise will be expensive. Mobile homes of excellent quality with microwave, toaster, dishwasher, Flat screen TV and fridge/freezer. Only issues were mosquitos even though we brought prevention sprays and electric plug-ins, pool was of a rough surface and caused major scrapes and pain on feet. Bring pool footwear. Beach was around 2km away - a bike ride or small car journey. Local restuarant LE DAUPHIN fantastic, Aigues Mortes and canal ride was great. Great Family Holiday.

This was our first mobile home holiday. We booked directly via the Yelloh website. The main campsite area where the pool, restaurant and children's play area are has a great atmosphere and is beautiful with lots of bougainvillea and trees. The pool was a great size for the size of campsite and had plenty of water chutes, fountains, etc to keep our 4 and 6 year olds amused. There aren't many English guests on this campsite, which is a plus or minus depending on your viewpoint. All the staff speak English though apart from the kids' club animateurs, which meant we couldn't really use the kids' club. The mobile home was clean and modern although had very little space around it. If you're staying there with Yelloh bring mugs with you and 150 Euros in cash as a damage deposit, which you get back after an inventory check at the end. Also, cleaning is not included in their accomm. price.

Great holiday, especially for families with small children. Pools/slides excellent although edges of pool very rough and all children ended up with toes bleeding, due to landing in pool from slides and toes rubbing on bottom of pools. Shredded costumes! Entertainment/kids club good but no english spoken, although reps badges have an english flag. No lifeguard until July, but so quiet could see the children at all times. Nice pleasant small site. We stayed Eurocamp - no problems. LOTS AND LOTS of insects, took and used insect creams/plugs but out in the evening just got bitten to death. But a marshy area, as described. Bull ring worth a visit. Didn't go to the beach - wasn't impressed. But so impressed with pool, stopped on camp all day. The Yelloh bull branding trip worthwhile if you like that sort of thing. Camp not full and therefore not busy when we went mid/late June. Would recommend.

We have just come back, July 2008 and i think we were the only British people there which was nice. Everyone very friendly, pool was small but very relaxing, especially with the lodge club right next to it, you can cool down with a drink and lay on the hammocks. Good idea to have an adults campsite and those with children upto 3 as it did not disturb it's tranquility. Would definately come back.

A great place to be on vacation; a beautiful area and plenty to see. However, when we arrived we were allocated a spot that was so tight that we immediately asked for another spot. We don't have anything against homosexuals but on the last day a group arrived that made a terrible fuss. And, against the regulations, there were kids here above 3 years old.

We just got back from our holiday, 14-28 June. The camping is quite small but the mobile homes are magnificent. A nice elevated terrace with 2 chairs and a table and a washing rack (without pins) and two plastic sun beds (without cushions). Around the caravan there's sand so you need to sweep the caravan every day. On the inside everything is luxurious; a large refrigerator with freezing compartment, dishwasher, numerous plates and two kinds of glasses, cutlery (including bottle opener and can opener), coffee maker, toaster and lots a cabinet space. The bed is 1,80m wide and the bathroom is spacious for caravan standards. We had a great time. One of the guys at the reception speaks Dutch and the service is great. In this area you can also use the internet for free and buy tickets for parking at the beach until 1 July. Normally they cost 5 Euros and they sell them for 2,20 Euros. Many Dutch and French. Area: Montpellier, Nimes, Pont de Gard, Grau de Roi, St. Marie and Arles.

It's a pity that travel brochures (but websites do) mention that, among others, this camping is suited for gays and lesbians. Not really a problem but they caused a lot of disturbance due to their behaviour and nightly parties.

The travel organisations say that it is an perfect camping for serene rest.

We left the camping early.

A late reaction, but well worth it.

My partner and I went to this camping because we had to book at the very last moment. I'm a difficult person when it comes to booking a holiday. In the end the area, the mobile home and the swimming pool appealed to me.

We booked and when we arrived we found a luxurious mobile home, fitted with aircon, dishwasher and a bed (180x200 cm) and you don't find that often. It is pleasantly quiet at the camping (no children), yet there isn't much to do. For us that wasn't an issue because there's plenty to do in the area. I didn't get bored. I wouldn't come back again, because I don't fancy visiting an area twice. But the accommodation can be an example to others.

There's no shop at the camping, you can buy bread but, in our opinion, it wasn't always fresh.

Staff was very friendly and cooperative.

You can get a bike for free for the duration of your stay. Go and find out for yourself.

We just came back. We had a great time. We stayed in a caravan on a beautiful location. A complete caravan. Even a dishwasher. A quiet place. They don't like kids older than 3 around. The camping site across the street was more noisy than this one. Enough recliners at the pool. The water was pretty cold, but it was ok. A lot of places of interest in the area. One week wasn't enough actually. Maybe we'll come back next year. We'll remember the number.

We stayed at this camping site for a couple of weeks in August 2007 with 2 adults and 2 kids (3 and 5 years old). We agree with most of the comments. A kind reception. There are several spots available, like shady spots, large spots, clean spots etc. There was no lawn. Our spot (#38) was lovely. A shady spot, no grass. An excellent pool with three slides. Two shallow pools and one large one. The rim was very rough. A camping shop, a restaurant, a bakery (pizzas and bread). It was a 5 minute drive to the large beach L'espiquette. A free drive by bus, 5 euros by car. A touristic place. You're able to ride horseback and visit the marinas. Close to a small Super U. There was a large Super U close to Port de Peche.
